Today was garbage day so we put out our trash and a recycle bin full of recyclables. About 15 minutes later a giant gust of wind blew the recycle bin over and most of it’s contents were carried quickly out of sight by the wind. Such perfect timing for earth day. Perhaps next week, we’ll put the recyclables in the trash can since it has a lid.

Get a recycling bin with a lid.

No thanks. I’ll take what the waste disposal company gave me and if it doesn’t have a lid and spills trash in the wind, then thats not really my problem.

This cracked me up – I always wondered why we have to pay extra just to have the opportunity to recycle. It shows how little the stuff is really worth – if they could do anything worthwhile with our used goods, shouldn’t THEY pay US to give it to them??
